Cosmetic Injections with Nurse Moreen at Dr. Jenny Skincare

Hi, I’m Nurse Moreen, and if you’re looking for cosmetic injections in Nanaimo, you’ve come to the right place.

I provide neuromodulator such as Botox® and Xeomin® along with dermal filler treatments at Dr. Jenny Skincare, working alongside Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Jenny Cheng. Our clinic is conveniently located inside Millstone Medical, 1621 Dufferin Crescent, Suite #204, just kitty-corner to NRGH, with paid parking at the back of the building and free street parking.

When you arrive, you’ll be warmly greeted by Tamara, our knowledgeable office manager who has years of experience in plastics and injectables. From there, I’ll invite you into my treatment room for your informed consultation, the most important step in every aesthetic journey.

Every Treatment Starts with a Consultation

Before any injection, we’ll sit down together to discuss your goals, health history, and expectations. My approach is rooted in evidence-based medicine and guided by safety, education, and collaboration. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of your treatment options and a customized plan that fits your needs and comfort level. We'll only proceed once you fully understand the benefits, risks, and after-care.

How Does Botox Work?

Botox and other neuromodulators are prescription medications that work by relaxing the muscles responsible for dynamic lines, those fine lines and wrinkles that appear with expression such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles. The goal isn’t to freeze your face, but to create a refreshed, natural look while maintaining movement.

Is Botox Safe and What Are the Possible Risks?

When administered by a qualified professional under proper medical oversight, Botox is considered safe and well-studied. As with any medical procedure, there are potential side effects such as mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. Rare reactions are discussed thoroughly during your consultation so you can make an informed decision before treatment.

How Much Does Botox Cost in Nanaimo?

Pricing varies depending on the area treated and the number of units required. Because Botox is a prescription drug, dosing is individualized. We’ll review a detailed treatment plan and pricing before proceeding.

What Results Can I Expect and How Long Will They Last?

You’ll typically notice results within 3 to 7 days, with full effect around two weeks. Botox results generally last 3 to 4 months, depending on your metabolism, muscle activity, and treatment area.

Who Performs the Injections and What Are Their Qualifications?

All injectable treatments are performed by me, Nurse Moreen, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with training in Aesthetic Specialty Nursing. Every procedure is medically directed and overseen by Dr. Jenny Cheng, ensuring safe, ethical, and clinically sound care in accordance with BCCNM standards and Health Canada regulations.

Which Brand Should I Use, Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport?

We use only Health Canada–approved products such as Botox®, Xeomin®, and Juvéderm®. Each has its own properties and indications. During your consultation, we’ll review the available options and discuss what may be most suitable for your individual goals, anatomy, and treatment plan as directed by my medical director Dr. Jenny Cheng.

How Should I Prepare and What About After-Care?

Before your treatment, it’s best to avoid alcohol and certain supplements that may increase the risk of bruising. Only discontinue medications such as aspirin if it has been discussed with your healthcare provider and deemed safe to do so. After your injections, you’ll receive written post-care instructions outlining how to care for the treated area, what to expect as your results develop, and when to return for follow-up if needed.

Avoiding Counterfeit or Misused Products

Unfortunately, counterfeit injectables do exist. At Dr. Jenny Skincare, all products are sourced directly from Health Canada approved distributors. All products are documented with product used, lot number and expiry. We believe in transparency, traceability, and patient safety every time.
